On June 24 2009 Sharah Abdi Saeed the chairperson of Al-kownin Women Voluntary Organization (ALKOWNIN) died in child birth. The entire Staff, Board of Directors and Member Organizations of Nagaad Umbrella Organizations would like to send their thoughts and prayers to the family of Sara Abdi Saeed. May Allah have mercy on her soul, grant her entrance to paradises and forgive her sins. May Allah give her family patience and faith to get through this difficult time. Sheffield Man drives his way Home to Somaliland |

Mohammed Musa Yusuf Makhtal is dedicated Somalilanders the 60 year old lived for 30 years in the UAE where he worked as a long distance driver. For the past years has resided in the northern UK town of Sheffield. Mohamed’s nationalistic sprit and passion for his homeland faded despite this extended time away from Somaliland Mohammed is a loving father and husband and for the past five months and seven days he has traveled across Europe the Middle East and Africa through in his 2002 red Mazda covered with “Recognize Somaliland” across the sides and back. His also has pictures of his wife and children attached to the side of his car. |

Despite the high levels of education among Somaliland women in Secondary, Collages and University, The portions of educated has increased substantially in Somaliland and while percentage of females is estimated about 60% of the Somaliland population. The undeniable roles of women are major self-employments services in Somaliland. In addition to that, Somaliland women are currently contributing major indigenous household’s economies. |
